What Mellovi is for
Mellovi helps users add plants, receive care reminders, save plant journal notes and photos, track growth photos, and sync plant information through user accounts.

The short version: your plants, journal entries, and photos belong to you, and we only collect what Mellovi needs to work. The full picture — what we collect, why, and how to delete it — is below, in plain English.
Information we collect
- Google sign-in data: If you sign in with Google, we may receive basic account information such as your name, email address, and Google account identifier.
- Email and account data: If you create an account directly, we may collect your email address, authentication details, and account preferences.
- Plant profiles: Information you add about your plants, such as names, species, care preferences, reminder settings, and related metadata.
- Care history: Records of watering, plant care activity, reminders, and other care tracking data you create in the app.
- Journal notes: Text notes, observations, and plant journal entries you save.
- Uploaded photos and growth photos: Photos you upload for plant profiles, journal entries, or growth tracking.
- AI growth analysis data: If AI growth analysis is enabled, related photo inputs and analysis outputs may be processed to provide growth insights or similar features.
- Device, analytics, and crash data: Limited technical information about app usage, diagnostics, and performance through analytics or crash-reporting tools.
- Subscription data: Purchase status, subscription entitlement, trial status, and restore-purchase events from app store billing or subscription tools.
How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To let you sign in, including through Google if you choose that option.
- To store and sync your plants, reminders, notes, care history, and photos across devices.
- To provide optional AI growth analysis features if those features are enabled.
- To improve app reliability, troubleshoot crashes, and understand general feature usage.
- To manage subscriptions, billing access, free trials, and restore purchases.
- To respond to support requests and account deletion requests.
Storage and service providers
Mellovi may use third-party infrastructure providers to run the service. Depending on the final production setup, this can include tools such as Supabase or Firebase for authentication, database services, file storage, and syncing.
Mellovi may also use third-party providers for:
- Cloud storage for uploaded photos and growth photos.
- Analytics and crash reporting.
- Subscription management and purchase validation.
- Optional AI analysis features.
These providers process data on our behalf so the app can function. We do not sell your personal data.
Google sign-in
If you use Google sign-in, Mellovi uses the information returned by Google to authenticate you and connect your account to the app. We do not request more Google data than needed for sign-in and account access unless we clearly ask for and explain additional permissions in the future.
Photos, journal entries, and AI analysis
Photos, notes, and journal entries are user-provided content. If AI growth analysis is available and you choose to use it, related content may be processed to generate plant-growth insights or similar outputs. Those outputs are informational only and should not be treated as guaranteed botanical advice.
Analytics and crash reporting
Mellovi may use analytics and crash-reporting tools to understand app stability, feature usage, errors, and performance. This data is used to maintain and improve the app experience.
Subscriptions and billing tools
If Mellovi offers paid subscriptions, we may receive status information from app store billing platforms or subscription tooling so we can unlock paid features, process restore purchases, and understand whether a free trial or paid plan is active.
Data retention
We keep account and app data for as long as needed to provide Mellovi, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legitimate recordkeeping.
How to delete your data
You can request account deletion through the app if that option is available, or by following the instructions on the Delete Account page. Deleting your account may remove access to plant profiles, care history, notes, photos, and related synced data associated with your account.
Your choices
- You can choose whether to sign in with Google or another available method.
- You can choose whether to upload plant photos, growth photos, and journal content.
- You can contact us about deleting your account or questions about your information.
Children's privacy
Mellovi is not intended for children under the age of 13, or a higher age where required by local law, without parental consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and take additional steps as required by law.
